Programming For Beginners -- Dictionaries and Hashes -- a free programming tutorial from http://www.bitwisecourses.com Dictionaries or hashes let you create lists containing key-value pairs. Unlike a normal sequential array, in which items are indexed using a number to indicate each item's position, a Dictionary is indexed using a 'key' which may be of various data types -- for example, a string. Some languages refer to Dictionary structures as 'associative arrays'. In this video I explain how to use a Dictionary or Hash to create lists of key-value paired items in which a descriptive key can be used to access an associated value.
